Ecco il risultato di tanto lavoro, da qualche mese Yoge ha preso una sua forma un po’ più strutturata. È arrivata Teresa, ha messo i puntini sulle i (che sono la mia passione) ha fotografato le i e i puntini, abbiamo organizzato le idee, coinvolto Patrizio ed eccoci "pronti a ricevere".

Molti dei lavori esposti sono già comparsi su questo blog, ma in yogedesign trovano – io penso – la loro collocazione ideale. C'è un po’ più spazio per descrivere l'idea del design sensibile e lascia a me tempo qui per raccontare quello che lavoro non è.

Here we go with the result of many efforts, since a few months Yoge started shaping up a bit more, Teresa arrived, precising a few things needed to be precised, she took pictures of them, we got our ming togheter, Patrizio was asked to be part of the team and here we go: ready to start.

Piccolo cambiamento grande risultato

Una chiaccherata informale, come tra amici, anzi tra amici che ancora non si conoscono. Lunedì 16 maggio da Bliss in via Teodosia racconterò dei piccoli aggiustamenti "etici" che porto continuamente alla mia vita senza stravolgimenti.

Ci sono piccole attenzioni da portare nella nostra vita di tutti i giorni di cui stiamo riscoprendo l'importanza.
Oggi si dicono "etici" ma per le nostre nonne era comune buonsenso.

La borsa x la spesa.
La bottiglia dell'acqua.
L'attenzione per l'acqua che scorre, ma anche le briciole sul davanzale per gli uccellini.

In mare è vero che un cambiamento della rotta anche di pochi gradi porta la barca
in un'altro porto... o a evitare una collisione.

Le Veggie t-shirt al Vegan Fest

Woooowww...
Partita all'improvviso. L'idea mi piace: i vegani. una mia Amica è vegana e la stimo molto per l'integrità della sua scelta. Per cui raccatto un gazebo da matrimonio, la lampada di camera mia e il tavolo del giardino di mio fratello (di cui dimentico le gambe) e mi avvio. Destinazione il primo VEGAN FEST di Camaiore www.veganfest.it. Flavia mi segue senza sapere tanto bene dove andiamo. Il posto è fantastico, una villa con parco all'italiana. La gente non posso descriverla: da abbracciare una per una solo per non aver mangiato l'agnello ed essere venuti a depositare il gettone di presenza (e non solo) al nostro impegno. Tanti gli stand gratuiti per la diffusione delle buone pratiche. Io come una bambina al cinema la prima volta mi guardo in giro e non mi sembra vero che ci si capisca e ci si apprezzi in mezzo minuto. Molte, moltissime chicche: le Semiserie www.semiserie.com, con la loro fresca creatività dalla tecnologia obsoleta. I ragazzi del Percorso Barefooter che insegnano alle persone che i piedi senza scarpe sentono come le mani senza guanti. I volontari di Sea Shepperds Conservation Society www.seashepherd.it pirati buoni che sotto l'insegna del teschio vanno a fermare le balenieri, chi uccide delfini e foche e de-pinna gli squali. Insomma, una gioia del cuore.
Elèna e non èlena (che è imporante) è tra quegli incontri graditi e inattesi, e con la sua bella macchina nuova mi ha immortalato vicino allo stand delle mie magliette. Piccoli lampi di gioia.

Stamattina la mia giovane cugina Alice ha discusso una bella tesi, ed è ufficialmente una Dottoressa in Lingue. Il suo papà mi ha incaricato della "confezione" del regalo di Laurea (sta diventando un pò un'abitudine).

Che divertente, c'è chi mi dice di aver fatto lo stesso con la foto di garibaldi.. a me è stato commissionato questo lavoro utilizzando la foto di Barbara (guarda te la coincidenza). Regalo di laurea. Qualcuno ha fatto esperimenti interessanti in proposito?

How entratining.. somebody told me he did the same exercise with the classical picture of Giuseppe Garibaldi... A client asked me if I could do it with the picture of the daughter for her university degreee. Does anybody did any more interesting experiments?

Patrizio mi ha chiesto "aprimi una valvola di sfogo perchè sto producendo troppi disegni".. ho cercato in giro abbiamo fatto due libri, 3 livree di barche da regata atlantica, contattato case editrici, ho stampato una linea di magliette, ho ragionato sulla possibilità di fare delle mostre, ma la sua produzione esuberava in ogni direzione la mia capacità di assorbimento, e allora, col poco che ho imparato con il mio di blog gli ho dato questo piccolo inestimabile strumento. E che bellezza. Che bellezza seguire le immagini che ne escono, le statistiche che si impennano, gente dall'altra parte del globo che si interessa. Blogger di tutto il mondo siete bellissimi!!

Patrizio asked mi "please get me a relief valve becouse I'm producing too many artworks"... I looked around, we put togheter 2 books, contacted editors, realized 3 design for racing boat, started a line of ecological t-shirts, thought of the possibility of putting up an exibithion but whatever I was doing was not absorbing his wonderfull capacity of producing creative artworks; so.. with the little I learned with my own blog I started for him this one, giving him, I know for experience, a very very precious tool. And how amazing, how beautiful it is to follow what come up, the line of statistics soaring, and people from far far away developping an interest! Blogger of the world we love you!

Orgogliosamente: le veggie t-shirt

In un uggioso pomeriggio di luglio stavo riflettendo sulla foto che Paul Mc Cartney ha fatto per la Peta, e pensavo.. ma perchè qua abbiamo solo magliette vegetariane con le mucche con gli occhi fuori dalla testa, o galline che sorridono, e niente che io indosserei volentieri? A quel punto è iniziato il processo, ho lanciato l'SOS Patrizio, che in men che non si dica ha prodotto un sacco di disegni di grande ispirazione, nonchè l'azzeccatissima citazione di Boy George. La ricerca del materiale è stata lunga e minuziosa, ma devo dire mi ha portato a conoscere delle persone interessantissime, con le quali abbiamo confezionato un prodotto davvero virtuoso: una maglietta in cotone biologico originato in progetti di commercio equosolidale e lavorata a filiera corta in Italia; per finire con la personalizzazione realizzata a mano con inchiostro ad acqua. Ecco, alla mia domanda: ma c'è veramente bisogno di una maglietta così? Posso serenamente rispondere: Si. Mancava.

During a boring afternoon in july I was reflecting upon the picture Paul Mc Cartney had about himself wearing a nice vegetarian theme t-shirt for Peta, and I thought: why we don't have here in Italy a nice vegetarian t-shirt, apart those with ugly cows laughing or chicken looking scared, I would like to make somethink I would wear proudly. So I called SOS Patrizio who start drowing nice funny things right away, and he hat the idea of the quote of Boy George's song. Looking for the right producer has been a long process, but it led me to meet some very interesting people, with who we assembled a very fine product: it is a t-shirt made of organic cotton from subtainable project in the south of the world, processed in Italy following a strict ethical code; finally we printed it manually with a water based ink. Here we go; these t-shirts fully respond to my main question: do we really need another t-shirt?

Appuntamento a Brignole, occhiali scuri, cappotto nero e rossetto rosso! Unico indizio un cartello: CAVALIERE L'ITALIA NON E' UNA REPUBBLICA FONDATA SULLA PROSTITUZIONE.

Il messaggio è stato colto da un centinaio di donne genovesi, e qualche temerario uomo (senza rossetto). L'idea era quella con un gesto teatrale di togliersi il rossetto ed esibire il cartello. Siamo andate, abbiamo urlato, abbiamo esposto i nostri cartelli, ci hanno fotografato e ripreso. Breve ma intenso un tipico Flash-Mob, 15 minuti di disallineamento, di gente che balla nell'atrio di una stazione, senza conoscersi ma grata della vicendevole presenza. Bello. Mi piacciono i FlashMob.

Appointment in Genova Bringole, black shades, black coat, and red lipstick! Only hint a piece of paper saying: CAVALIER: ITALY IS NOT A REPUBBLIC FOUNDED ON PROSTITUTION.

Roughly 100 women in Genova, and a few men (not wearing lipstick) got the message and put it in action. The idea was to take away the lipstick with a gesture of the hand and show the sign. We went we yelled, we showed our signs, somebody took pictures and somebody else made a video. Brief but intense: this is a typical Flash-Mob, 15 minutes out of the box, with people dancing in the hall of Genova's main train station, we don't know each other but we feel gratefull for each other's presence. Cool. I like Flash Mobs.

Caleidobabs

Silvia Rossini ha comprato un oggetto meraviglioso!!! Un caleidoscopio che frammenta il paesaggio o il soggetto che ha di fronte, e allora il soggetto di fronte sono stata io su skype con la macchina fotografica al posto dell'occhio!! questi sono i risultati, e non sapendo scegliere ho deciso di pubblicarli tutti.

Se aguzzate la vista mi potete vedere caleidoscoppizzata, nella prima il mio fantistico sorriso.. nella seconda non lo sappiamo, forse solo i denti!! nella terza un po tutto e così via.. maglia rossa, occhiali e riflesso del computer. :) Silvia è una vera artista.

A kaleidoscope which fragments the subject has got in front, in this case the subject was me, on skype, and instead of an human eye on the other side there was a camera!! These are the results, and not beign able of choosing I published all of them.

If you look closesly you can see me in the first one you can recognize my fantastic smile, in the second one probably just the teeth! from the third one on the whole face with a red jumper, my glasses and the computer refletion :) Silvia is a real artist.

Una decennale esperienza con due nipoti "vivaci" mi conferisce una certa fiducia in me stessa; e per integrare la mia attività di grafica etica ho pensato di propormi come baby sitter con un plus: un aiuto a fare i compiti. Per bimbi e ragazzi che devono mettere a frutto i loro pomeriggi.

With 10 years of experience with my two "lively" nephew I feel enough self confident; the income from my business as ethic graphic designer needs to be integrated with something ethic and felxible, i thought baby sitting would do the trick, with the plus of helping with homework, for kids who need to get some results from their afternoon of study!

La cucina di Flavia

Flavia cucina benissimo, lo dico dopo lunghi e ripetuti test, qualche mese fa mi ha parlato della sua idea di mettere su un home catering, per i soliti buffet o ricevimenti ma ancora di piu, ed è una cosa che io ho visto fare e funzionare negli Stati Uniti, fare chef domestico, cioè per quelle famiglie che vorrebbero mangiare cucinato a casa, bilanciato e gustoso ma che non ne hanno il tempo. Ecco la soluzione è chiamare Flavia, che capita la situazione, figli, marito, intolleranze, diete etc... sviluppa ogni settimana un menu che comprende un pranzo "espresso" per il giorno stesso, e una serie di basi come sughi, torte, misti x insalate o verdure accodomodate che possono essere gestite in autonomia durante la settimana. Ho iniziato a lavoraci con wix, che permette col minimo budget (0 euro x sempre) di avere un sito in flash versatile e aggiornabile in ogni momento. Ecco il nostro risultato!

Flavia is an excellente chef. I can tell after long and repeated tests. A few months ago she talked to me about the idea of putting up an home catering business, not only for organizing usual buffet or parties, but to do something I knewed allready from the States. It's called "the domestic chef" and it is addressed to all those families who care about a healthy, balanced and tasty food but they actually don't have time to cook it. This is where Flavia comes in, she studies the setting, children, husband, dieting, special requirement, and she proposes every week a different menu which incluedes an "espresso meal" for the same day she is in, and a serie of basis, like sauces, quiches, mix for salad or stir fried veggies that the family can use during the week.
So I started working on it with Wix, which is a good solution to have a flash web site at low budget (0 euros forevere).

Dimitri si è alzato, è andato alla finestra, ha guardato il cielo e ha detto "non è una buona giornata per fotografare". Ma lo ha fatto comunque, con quella sua fiducia nel metodo ha proceduto a fare tutto quello che va fatto per lasciarsi poi stupire da quello che ne esce, spontaneamente. Genova non si è fatta sfuggire l'occasione; nascosta nelle potenzialità di photoshop si celava questa immagine, questo patchwork di colori improbabili ma molto armonici, che ricorda tanto il puzzle di suoni, immagini, e profoumi che si sentono per i vicoli della mia città. Mi è piaciuta tanto questa foto che presto andrà ad allietare il muro a monte della mia casa. A valle guarda il porto, a monte la palazzata. Genova. Dal vero.

Dimitri got up, walked to the window, looked at the sky and said "today is not good for taking pictures". But he did it anyway, with his usual faith in the method he proceeded in doing everything you should do and let the results surprise him. Genova didn't drop the chance; and hidden in Dimitri's skills on photoshop there was this picture. This patchwork of wierdly assembled colour remind me very much to the puzzle of sounds, images, and smell that you can pick around my town. I loved this picture so much that soon will balance the real panorama you can enjoy from my front window... From one side you look at the harbour from the other side you look at the town. Genova. Libri in piazza

Già da 2 anni le maestre dei miei nipoti mi coinvolgono in questa avventura, per una giornata via Galata si anima di gruppetti di bambini che interpretano e mettono in scena dei brani dei libri che piu hanno amato. L'iniziativa è possibile grazie al contributo di mamme, zie, maestre e gestori dei negozi circostanti, chi da la focaccia, chi come me fornisce la grafica, chi, come ALG (la tipografia che mi sostiene in queste ed altre cose) offre la stampa gratuite. Leggere, amare un libro, parlarne a chi ami è importantissimo e mi fa molto piacere essere presente in questa piccola cosa. PS. Il disegno è originale di uno dei bambini!

In the last 2 years my nephew's teachers asked me to help them out in this adventure. For one day Via Galata lights up with group of children who paly pieces of the books that the loved the most. The initiative is possible because of the contribution of teachers, parents, aunties, and shopkeepers who give for free sweets, focaccia and drinks, or like me who supply the graphics or ALG (the printer usually supports me on this and other kind of things) who offered for free the printed material. Reading, loving a book, speaking to the people you love about the book you love is so important in our lives, I am very happy to be part of this movement. PS. Premjyoti

Due lampade che alimentano una sola fiamma, questo è stato il brief x il logo di questo posto incredibile che è la Premjyoti Society di Chiraigaon a Varanasi in India, che io e Mayana Romieri abbiamo studiato per loro.
Premjyoti, è una piccola scuola nella campagna a nord ovest dell'India, a circa una ventina di chilometri dalla città sarca Benares; qui studiano insieme ragazzi normodotati e ragazzi handicappati, mentali o fisici, non ha importanza. Sheela e Pawan, la coppia che ha fondato la scuola, non si curano certo di queste "piccole differenze" tanto quanto non si sono curati della differenza religiosa tra loro, si sono sposati e nel 1997 hanno messo su una capanna di foglie di palma dove insegnare a quei bambini che le famiglie non volevano affidare loro.
Sheela ha lavorato in passato con Madre Teresa, di cui ricorda il carattere fermo e lo sguardo dolce, è stata lei a raccontarmi che la fatica piu grossa è convincere i genitori a mandare questi bambini a scuola, spesso li trovano tenuti insieme e trattati come gli animali da cortile, altrevolte sono solo discriminati sul cibo o sui vestiti rispetto ai fratelli "normali".
A Premjyoti le differenze si dileguano.
Per loro ho fatto poco, spero di poter fare di più presto.

Two oil lamps who feed a single flame, this was the brief for the logo Mayana Romieri and I developed for this wonderful place which is Premjyoti society of Chiraigaon, Varanasi, India.
Premjyoti is a small school in the countryside in the north west of India, roughly 20 km out fo the holy city of Benares; here kids with different abilities study toghether, and it doesn't matter if they have phisical handicap, mental handicap or no handicap. In Premjyoti it is important what we have in common, not much what divedes us.
Sheela and Pawan, the couple who founded the school, don't really pay attention to "small differences" as much as they didn't pay attention to the reliougious difference between themselves, she is cristian and he is hindu and the got married anyway and in 1997 the put up the school, at first was just a shelter made up with palm tree's leaves, to teach to those children nobody wanted to teach to.
Sheela in the past has worked with Mother Teresa, and something of her strong caracther mixed with a very sweet look in the eyes remind me of her.
She told me that the main effort is to talk to the parents of disabled children and to convince them to send the kids to school, in the parent's opionion they are not worth, often Sheele find those kids among the court animals, and treated like one of them, sometimes they are just neglected and not given the food or clothes like their "normal" brothers and sisters.
When they get to Premjyoti all the differences disappear.
I feel like I haven't done much for Sheela and Pawan, I managed to convey some money from Italian doners, I made the images for the website and a tiny presentation.. I would like to do more in the future.

Piano cycle

Guillemette e Cristophe sono arrivati a Genova mercoledì, ultima loro tappa precedente Stradella 64 Km di sali e scendi; prossima: Tangeri. Viaggiano su due biciclette, una normale e una un po' speciale: un grande triciclo con la pedalata assistita con montato dietro un grande cassone bianco, termoisolato e fornito di pannelli solari, per aiutare la ricarica . E si, perchè portare un pianoforte ha il suo peso. Questi due ragazzi francesi che ho avuto il piacere di ospitare un paio di giorni stanno girando l'Europa da 2 anni quasi, il loro scopo è "decontestualizzare il pianoforte", che giustamente quando si toglie da un salone e si mette in un prato, su un ponte o in mezzo ad un porto prende tutto un'altro aspetto. Qui sono in mezzo "ai paurosi" come hanno interpretato i girasoli morenti.

Guillemette and Cristophe arrived in Genova last wendsday, their previous stop was Stradella: 64 km north of Genova; next stop: Tangeri in Marocco, via ferry. They travel with two bycicles, a regular one and a slightly special one: it has three big wheels, and on the back of it there is mounted a big white box able to keep away humidity, cold and heat, on the top there is a series of small solar panel to help charge up the electic enginge. Yhea, becouse to carry a Pianoforte is not easy. These two french guys who spent with me a couple of days have been travelling around Europe for nearly 2 years so far, their mission is "to take out of contest the piano", they thinkk that when you take a Piano out of the main saloon of a house and place it in the middle of a street, or a bridge, or a field of grass it changes completely its meaning. Even more if Guillemette plays it so wonderfully. Here she is in the middle of "the fearfull ones" as they interpreted this dead sunflwoers.

Asthanga Yoga a Perugia

A sud di Creta: Agios Pavlos, tarda mattinata assolata, una serie di tornati in discesa e una 500 del 69 che procede disinvolta verso il mare.
Dall'altra parte, da una finestra del piccolo centro yoga sulla spiaggia Carla, unica italiana al centro in quel momento sta stendendo il suo tappetino yoga dalla finestra, vede la 500 color crema venire giu e pensa "...e questa?"
Io e Carla ci siamo conosciute così nel 2005. Io la stimo come una delle piu serie insegnanti di Ashtanga Yoga in Italia, ha un bellissimo centro a Perugia a cui e con questa immagine grafica ho dato il mio contributo.

South of Crete Island in Greece: the village name is Agios Pavlos, late in a very hot morning, after a series of turning downhill a little Fiat 500 built in the 1969 is proceeding happily towards the beaches.
From the other side, from a window of the little yoga centre on the beach there is Carla, the only italian in the resort at that moment, she is folding away her yoga mat, she stares at the creamy color old car and thinks "and? where this car come from?"
This is the way Carla and I met back in 2005. I think she is one of the most serious Ashtanga Yoga teacher in Italy, she owns a very nice Yoga Center in Perugia and this is the graphic image I studied for her.

La scuola di vela di Anna

Ho conosciuto Anna nel circuito regate storiche, forte e determinata Anna è albanese, vive in Italia da anni, ama la vela e si è determinata qualche anno fa di portare questo sport in Albania. L'impresa è ciclopica, ma partendo da una piccola scuola vela forse è possibile; per aprire una scuola vela ci vuole una federazione velica, e ognuna di queste cose ha bisogno di un logo. Ecco il risultato del nostro lavoro. Oggi la scuola di Anna è alla seconda stagione, le barche escono regolarmente e sta pensando ad un primo circuito regate.

I met Anna in the circuit of the historical races, she is a strong and determinad woman from Albania, she has been living in Italy for many years, she loves sailing and she made the proposition a few years ago to take the sport of sailing in Albania. The goal is gigantic, but step by step it might be possibile. First step is to open a Sailing School, but before that you need a Sail Federetion.. and each of this things needs a logo. This is the result of our effort. This one just finished is for Anna's sailing school the second year of activity, the boat go out regularly and she is even planning the first circuit of races.

La poesia

Il festival di poesia di Genova è una presenza karmica nella mia vita, per anni l'ho seguito come grafica quando lavoravo da Beppe (Firma) e quando un paio di anni fa ho iniziato la collaborazione con Raffaella Valenti è stato bellissimo rivederlo fare capolino tra i miei appuntamenti fissi, di questo progetto in particolare mi entusiasma lavorare con i disegni di Elena Chiesa illuminata videoartista, illustratrice e non solo.
Sempre per lo studio di Raffaella (BS&C) ho avuto il piacere e l'onore di studiare il libretto delle poesie musicate LA MARCIA NELL'OMBRA, e poi le ho ascoltate, e poi le ho fatte ascoltare, e poi Patrizio le ha illustrate.. e ora esce il libro.

The Internationa Festival of Poetry of genova is a karmic presence in my life; for a number of years I was assigned to this client when I was working for Beppe in Firma, and a couples of years ago when I started the collaboration with Raffaella Valenti it has been a real pleasure to see it among my regular working appointments. What particularly enthusiams me about this project is to work with the very inspiring illustrations made from Elena Chiesa, which beside being a very good illustrator is a world wide well known video artist.
Again for Raffalla (BS&C) I had the pleasure and the honour to design the cover of the LA MARCIA DELL'OMBRA cd of music poetry, while I was working on them I was listening them, I enjoyed them so much I played the to Patrizio, Patrizio start making illustrations inspired by them and soon we'll have the book published...

Il Teatrino di San Benedetto

San Benedetto al Porto e don Andrea Gallo sono nel mio cuore da quando entrando con un amico e mettendo la mia professione a loro disposizione mi sono vista mettere in mano il programma approssimativo ma entusiasmante del teatrino.
Questo meraviglioso spazio sotto la chiesa accoglie tantissime, bellissime coloratissime e commoventissime realtà.
Volevano un logo, forse un giorno sarebbe diventata un'insegna, ancora non è successo ma speriamo succeda presto. Ho fatto una ricerca sui simboli e ho trovato questo, che nella tradizione africana intende "migrazioni" spostarsi e abitare da un posto ad un'altro, entrare nel profondo di un'altra cultura portando il proprio contributo.
Frequento sambe da parecchio tempo, e devo dire la verità che se mai avessi avuto la spocchia di "andare ad aiutare" mi sarebbe passata da tempo, perchè basta una serata di chiacchere, o una domenica a pranzo, per non capire piu chi è andato ad aiutare chi, chi è "normale" e chi no. Sambeterapia.

San Benedetto al Porto and don Andrea Gallo are rooted into my heart since the day I entered the centre with a friend and I put my skills as graphic designer to their service. First job help with the little teathre they have just downstairs the church. This magical space receive so many wonderfull, colorfull and touching realities that is impossibile for me to count them.
They needed a logo, maybe one day it would have been a neon signn.. up to today it didn't happen yet, but maybe one day...
To make the logo I started form a research on symbols and I found this which is in the african tradition "migration" to move and to live from one place to another, to get deep into another culture taking there your own contibution.
I have hanged around "Sambe" for quite a long time so fare, and if I ever had the strange idea of going there "to help" it would have gone by now. It is enough to spend a couple of hours with sambe's peole or share with them a meal to get confused about who is helping who, who is "normal" and who isn't.

Corpo Spazio e Relazione

Ho verso Sabino de Bari un debito di riconoscenza per un paio di motivi, il primo è che mi ha rimesso in grado di camminare dopo 60 giorni di immobilità. Non era facile aiutarmi in quei giorni, e lui oltre a mettere in campo la sua professionalità come fisioterapista e osteopata ha "mandato il chi" (come dice lui) verso la mia guarigione..
Il secondo motivo è che con grande semplicità mi ha aperto la porta che oggi sto attraversando: la possibilità di mettere il mio lavoro al servizio delle mie convinzioni.
Per questo oggi lo chiamo Amico.
Sabino mi ha commissionato lo studio di un paio di cose che mi sono piaciute molto.
La prima è la locandina per comunicare l'arrivo del suo maestro Kenjiro Yoshigasaki, di cui ho frequentato il corso: esperienza unica.
La seconda è la locandina della pratica sviluppata da Sabino stesso, basata sull'akido e finalizzata a focalizzare quali meccanismi corporei si mettono in atto sempre nel relazionarci con gli altri.

I feel towards Sabino de Bari gratefullness for a couple of reason, first of all is becouse he put me back on my feet after 60 days in a couch. It wasn't easy to help oout those days, but he made it I think becouse he put in the effort, beside his professional ability as a physio and as osteopath, even his personal energy, as he would say he "sent the Chi" towards my healing.
The second reason is that with great semplicity he opened the door that I am about to cross in these days: the possibility of putting my skills to the service of my beliefs.
For these reasons today I call him Friend.
Sabino asked me to follow a pair of projec which I liked immediatly.
First of all is the poster for the workshop of his guru: Kenjiro Yoshigasaki, I attended the workshop and it has been a great experience indeed.
The other one is the poster for a practice Sabino developped himself basing it on aikido and focusing on those patterns of behaviour we all put in place whenever we approach others.

Seminario di Immaginazione Profonda

Nel gennaio del 2009 ho ospitato per la prima volta Steve Gallegos che ha tenuto il suo seminario su questa tecnica particolare che unisce le tradizioni degli indiani d'america al sistema energetico degli indiani dell'india, lo ha chiamato Il PERCORSO DEL TOTEM PERSONALE. Sono stati 3 giorni intensi, il lavoro di preparazione è stato faticoso ma la riconscenza e il sorriso pieno delle persone che vi hanno partecipato mi hanno convinto a ripetere la cosa subito, appena possibile e infatti maggio 2009 c'è stata una seconda edizione. Lavorare con Steve e Mayana è per me sempre fonte di grande ispirazione e crescita, spero davvero che si ripeta ancora e ancora. O chi lo sa, di andare a trovare Steve nel suo centro in New Mexico

January 2009 I hosted for the first time Steve Gallegos who held a workshop of this particular technique who join the tradition of american indians and the energy knowledge of the indians from India; he named it PERSONAL TOTEM POLE PROCESS. They have been 3 very intense days, the preparatory works have been tiring, but the light on the smile of the people taking part of it has been so rewarding that I decided straigh away I would have done it again as soon as possible. So, in a few months, may 2009 we had the second edition. Working with Steve and Mayana for me is always a source of great knowledge, inspiration and growth. I hope to host them very soon. I momenti che mi godo di piu, comunque ovunque e quantunque sono e restano paciugare con Patrizio, che dopo lunghe e travagliate peripezie è riuscito a trovare una porticina piccola piccola per fare uscire nel mondo reale il suo mondo di fantasia. L'anno scorso gli ho fatto conoscere le poesie di Claudio Pozzani, che già io molto apprezzo, Patrizio è stato posseduto dal creativo fuoco sacro e ha iniziato a riempire fogli di immagini. Qualche mese fa la bella notizia che Piero Biglia di Saronno ci avrebbe pubblicato una piccola tiratura. Nei prossimi giorni vedrà la luce questa pubblicazione preziosa.

Anyway the time I enjoy the best, are the stay when I paly with Patrizio's imagese. After many efforts he found a little door where to feed trough into the real world his imaginary world. Last year I pointed to his attention Claudio Pozzani's poetry. That's was enough to start his creative fire, and he filled up notebooks over notebooks of images. A few months ago the wonderfull news that Piero Biglia di Saronno decided to be his mentor and publish a small amount of this books with Claudio's poetry and Patrizio's images. In the next few days I will have the real precious object in my hands.

I Fregi di Marjatta

Marjatta è lo yawl del 1943 su cui oramai da anni faccio le regate storiche. Questa primavera in occasione della periodica manutenzione della carena Kossio, il comandante, mi ha chiesto di dipingere i fregi di poppa e di prua, è un lavoro delicato e artigianale e farlo mi ha riempito di orgoglio. Lavorare nel cantiere dello Yacht Club di Genova è stato bellissimo, con l'odore di legno, i carpentieri con la testa bassa sul lavoro e che ogni tanto si lanciano un grido. Bellissimo, due giornate in tuta blu e pennelli e mani sporche di bianco e blu.

Marjatta is a yawl built in 1943, I have been part of the crew for the last 5 years so far in the Historical Race Trophies. Last spring, when she had to go on periodical maintenance Kossio, the capitain, asked me to redo the flower motifs on the bow and on the stern. it is a very delicate job, and beeing asked to do it filled me with pride. Working in the dockyard of the Genova Yacht Club has been wonderfull, with the smell of the wood, the carpenters working head down, yelling jokes now and then: Very integral experience. Two days wearing the blue one piece suit with hands and brushes stained of white and blue paint.

Naturopatia

Romina ha una storia simile alla mia, una carriera avviata in quella che lei non sentiva la sua professione (io piu o meno c'ero.. era lo schema di lavoro e l'obiettivo che non erano fasati coi miei). Oggi fa la naturopata, ed io con grande orgoglio le ho preparato il materiale divulgativo.

I can relate Romina's story very much to mine, she had a good working carriar, but she didn't feel that was right for her (for me the main idea - desing - was there, what was not right was the way and the goal) Today Romina is a naturopath, and for me has been a pleasure to prepare her flyer.

Lara e le sue foto

L'incontro con Lara è stato un coup de fudre, viste, piaciute e lavorato insieme. Prima la mostra a Bologna di cui questo è l'invito, l'allestimento, particolare e di grande impatto, poi la pubblicazione di un piccolo libro per il Museo Galata. Ora stiamo collaborando per altri progetti. Lara ed Eros sono due persone molto impegnate nello sviluppo personale, nella conoscenza di se, e nel cambiare le cose partendo da dentro. Grazie ragazzi per le molte ispirazioni.

With Lara it has been love at first sight, we met, we liked each other and we started producing things. First was her exhibition in Bologna, (the one you see is the invitation card) the showing display, particularly challenged us a lot and we were very pleased with the result. A few months later she was among the artist who partecipated to another exhibition for Museo Galata in Genova for whom I worked on the little booklet. Now we are collaborating on other new projects. Lara and Eros are two people seriously commetted on the self development field, exploring themself and changing the world starting from inside. Thank you guys for the many inspirations.

Riso Solidale

Il primo progetto grande, dal logo alla declinazione sul materiale divulgativo, nel campo etico è stato per Riso Solidale, una associazione unica in italia io credo, che riesce con il lavoro di volontari, con l'uso di sfridi di sartoria x i pacchi di riso, e mille altre attenzioni a produrre un ottimo riso che non produce reddito ma bensì crea un circolo virtuoso di sovvenzionamenti a molti piccoli progetti di volontariato (tra cui Alice Project). Queste sono le etichette del riso, la confezione Riso e Vino dello scorso anno e quella di quest'anno e le bomboniere x i matrimoni sostenibili

This is the firs big project on the substainable business as been for Riso Solidale. Starting from scratch: from the design of the logo, to the application to all the gadgets and literature.
Riso Solidale is, I think, a unique project in Italy, they manage to produce a premium rice on a very low impact packaging and with use of volonteers. Riso Solidale doesn't produce profit but gives all its income to a very big number of small onlus projects (among who there is Alice Project). These you see are the lables of the rice bags, the Rice and wine box and bag and the little wedding bags.

Alice nel paese delle meraviglie

Alla fine del 2007 ho passato qualche mese in India a seguire un progetto di volontariato Alice Project. L'esperienza "in loco" mi ha fatto capire che potevo essere molto piu utile a loro (e forse ad altri) da casa, facendo la cosa che conosco meglio, nel modo migliore. La prima richiesta è stata il restyiling del logo. Poi i depliant. Alice è un posto magico, dove la meditazione viene usata come sostegno all'educazione scolastica, con risultati sorprendenti. Mi è difficile esprimere a che punto sia stata illuminante per me questa esperienza.

At the end of 2007 I spent a few months in India working as volonteer in Alice Project. The experience "on the spot" made me realize that I could be of much more help to them (and probably to many other project) from home, doing the thing I know best, in the best way possible. The first request was the restyling of the logo. The flyers and more to come. Alice Project in Sarnath is a magic place, where they use meditation as a tool for school education with stunning results. I cannot say what an enlightening experience it has been.

Cascina Colombotta

Alberto, dopo una vita cittadina e ritmi alienanti ha deciso di seguire il passo della natura. Cascina Colombotta è la sua casa, dove produce il suo vino, un dolcetto di Ovada. Il Natale scorso ha deciso di offrire il risultato del suo lavoro, eccezionale in quell'annata, al Riso Solidale, per completare una confezione natalizia che si chiama "RISO E VINO". E' stata una gioia per me realizzargli l'etichetta.

Alberto, after many years of city life at crazy pace decide to follow the pace of nature. Cascina Colombotta is now his home, where he produces his wine, Dolcetto di Ovada. Last Christmas he decide to offer the results of his work (particularly good that year) to Riso Solidale, as complement to the Xmas gift box named "Rice and Wine". It has been a joy for me to think about the label.

Adam Keen, insegnante yoga e cuoco ayurvedico ha iniziato a Vancuver un business di consegna spesa biologica e a km zero porta a porta. La sua idea è stata di contattare i contadini intorno a Vancuver e selezionarne un certo numero che fornissero piccole quantità. Dopo di che ha assemblato una "scatola kit" che contenesse la bottiglia x il latte, il contenitore x le uova, le buste (in stoffa) x granaglie e verdure, il tutto contenuto in una scatola collassabile. Fornendone 2 ad ogni cliente si sarebbero scambiati la vuota con la piena. Adam mi ha chiesto il logo per questo meraviglioso progetto.

Adam Keen, yoga teache and ayurvedic chef had the idea of starting an organic food business in Vancuver door to door. The idea was to find organic farmers around Vancuver area and select a good number able to supply a small amount of everything. Adam thought of setting up a double package box with the milk bottle, the eggs container and fabric bags for granary and veggies. At every delivery they would swap the full box with the empty one, ready to be filled up again. Adam asked me to think of a logo for this wonderfull project.

Andrea Iacopini ci ama

Andrea cambia barca, e ancora ci sfida a trovare una nuova idea. La barca si chiama Umpa Lumpa, Patrizio si diverte con le sue calligrafie, l'idea dell'uomo che compenetra il mare, il mare che si avvicina all'uomo. La figura è a metà a suggerire che altro c'è sotto la superficie.

Andrea gets a new boat, and again he challenges us with a new idea. The new boat is called Umpa Lumpa, Patrizio starts playing with his calligraphies, the concept is the man enterin the sea, and the sea getting closer to the man. The design is half way over the floating line to suggest that more is under the surface.

Adrenalina

Da li alla seconda il passo è breve, Andrea Iacopini si entusiasma del nostro stile, la barca si chiama Adrenalina e dalla matita di Patrizio scaturiscono una serie di tostissimi guerrieri. Andrea era felice, noi pure. Live slow Sail fast!

Penelope, dallo schizzo alla barca

Tutto inizia con la Susi, intrepida minista che mi chiede di pensare al logo x la sua barca Penelope. Subito coinvolgo Patrizio Colotto, la vera anima di queste meravigliose livree, con due gesti (lo schizzo lo vedete qua sotto) ha già l'idea, poi la passiamo a computer, ci ritroviamo io e la Susi con dei rotoloni di adesivo ingestibile ma alla sera sudate e felici contempliamo il risultato. Penelope ci guarda decisa a vincere.

Everything started when Susy, couragous "Mini" sailor, asks me to think about a new logo for her boat: Penelope. I immediatly call Patrizio Colotto, trying to involve him; his illustrations become immediatly the real core of these boat design; with a couple of pencil stroke he immediatly identifies the concept (you can see it right here), then we pass trough the computer and in a few weeks me and Susy are sweat and happy trying to apply the big rolls of cutted pvc on the side of the boat. The same evening Penelope is looking at us determined to win.
